OnePlus 5T Brief Review and Pros Cons:

OnePlus after about 5 months of the launch of OnePlus 5 has launched the most anticipated smartphone ever, OnePlus 5T. The company has basically upgraded the OnePlus 5 making it suite the current market demand while keeping the price same as that of OnePlus 5.

OnePlus 5T comes with a 6-inch bezel-less display, the screen is a Samsung AMOLED panel with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass protection. The colours are vibrant and the screen is bright with a resolution 1080p and 401-pixel density. The hold and grip on OnPlus 5T in hand are smooth and the phone looks perfectly stunning, though it might take a few days for a new user to adjust on the 6-inch screen.

The processor in OnePlus 5T is an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, same as that in OnePlus 5 which is on the expected lines, as nothing exceeds Snapdragon 835 in the market right now. The Antutu benchmark score of One Plus 5T is around 1,70,000 indicating a very strong performance.

Coming to the Camera performance of OnePlus 5T, it comes with a dual camera rear sensor which is a combination of 16MP Main camera and 20MP Secondary camera. This in terms of number, looks same as that of OnePlus 5, but the 20MP sensor has been upgraded to have a f/1.7 aperture in a bid to improve the low lighting shots from the phone. The front camera of OnePlus 5T is a 16MP sensor, which is exactly the same as that of OnePlus 5. Overall, the OnePlus 5 had an exceptional camera performance in both front and rear camera, but with slight upgradation of the rear camera aperture, OnePlus 5T is also set to click excellent photos in the low lighting conditions.

Commenting on the Gaming performance of OnePlus 5T, it delivers a true flagship performance, with no heating or lag issues observed in our initial testing. With such strong processor and abundant RAM, this cannot go wrong and comes down to the efficiency of the phone, which OnePlus has been really good at.

OnePlus 5T as similar to OnePlus 5, comes in 2 variants. One with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage priced at 32999, and the second with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage priced at 37999. As per the requirement of your internal memory, the user can choose the variant, while both 6GB and 8GB of RAM should be sufficient for any level of multitasking. Since the screen has been upgraded to a bezel-less display, there is no space on the front to fit the fingerprint sensor and has been moved to the back, it is both accurate and quick, no sluggishness was observed.

OnePlus 5T also comes with 'Face Unlocking', which uses the front camera to puts more than 100 facial spots, but this is not a secure method and is nowhere close to the face unlocking mechanism in iPhone X. This method of using face unlocking just with the use of front camera can be fooled using a picture and also with OnePlus 5T, it is not possible to use the Face Unlocking in the dark because of lack on additional hardware. Face Unlocking on OnePlus 5T  is convenient and fast but is not foolproof. Read about how FaceID works on Apple iPhone X.

The battery size of OnePlus 5T is 3300mAH, which can give a day backup with normal usage, with 6 inches of screen, we are excited to see it lasting for a day. The phone comes with proprietary dash charging which is capable of charging from 0 to 100 percent in just an hour. OnePlus feels that the market for wireless charging is yet to be matured and it restricts the users rather than making them free as the phone cannot be used to play games or call while charging.

OnePlus 5T comes with a very clean Oxygen OS which is based on Android 7.1.1 but OnePlus has promised an upgrade to Android 8.0 (Oreo) by next year beginning and a beta build by end of 2017.

The only disappointment here is that the phone is not waterproof or dustproof, basically, there is no IP rating, it is neither IP67 nor IP68 certified. We feel that IP certification is important in a phone ranged 30k, we even saw IP68 certification on a phone like Moto X4 in the range of 20K. check out more about IP ratings and certifications.

OnePlus phones have always been a great deal, with OnePlus 5T also following be the trend. With the latest technology, great design, improved camera and perfect build quality make OnePlus 5T a perfect budget flagship phone.
