Huawei has launched the Honor 7X in China this week. Honor 7X is the successor to the last year's Honor 6X which was Honor's dual camera phone in mid range. It got some good reviews in India and had decent sales. Huawei has changed a lot of things in this upgrade and we won't be surprised if it becomes the best selling mid-range smartphone in India.
The Honor 7X looks like a high-end Android smartphone and features a large 18:9 display. It comes in three variants. The Honor 7X with 32GB internal storage is priced at CNY 1,299 (Rs. 13000), the 64GB model is priced at CNY 1,699 (Rs. 17000) and the top model comes with128GB storage and is priced at CNY 1,999 (Rs. 20000). The Honor 7X will be available in Aurora Blue, Gold, and Black color options. It will go on sale in China on October 17.

Honor 7X Price in India
Honor 7X is expected to be priced little lower than in China. Huawei is getting aggressive in India and to beat Xiaomi they have to lower the prices at it is one of the most important factors in India. A small difference of Rs 1000-2000 can make a big difference to the total sales numbers.
These are our estimates of Honor 7X pricing in India:
- 32GB at Rs. 13000
- 64GB at Rs. 15000
128GB at Rs. 17000
Huawei is not bringing the 128GB variant to India which is disappointing as a lot of users do need 128GB storage.
Honor 7X India Release Date
Honor 7X was launched this week in China and it is expected to launch in India in December or January. Honor recently launched the Honor 9i in India which is expected to get a good response from buyers. Huawei would like to give Honor 9i couple of months before launching another phone in the same price segment.
Update on 7th Nov:
Honor’s Global president George Zhao said that the device would arrive on the market this December and that it would come at an unbeatable price[Source]. This is in line with our expectations regarding launch date and pricing. We believe Honor 7X would be launched at the prices listed above as they are competitive. Anything lower than that would become unbeatable for sure. Redmi Note 5 is also coming to India in December with dual camera and bezel-less display so it is going to be an interesting fight.
Update on 27th Nov:
Honor 7X will be available from 5th 7th December 2017 on Amazon(Register for Sale on Amazon if you are planning to buy Honor 7X). One important feature that we missed earlier was that the Honor 7X will be IP67 rated water and dust proof. This is exciting because currently smartphones below 20000 or even 30000 are not water/dust proof. Even the latest OnePlus 5T(See review) is not water/dust proof. Availability in India:
Honor 7X will be Amazon Exclusive device. This was expected as Honor 9i is similar in specs and is Flipkart Exclusive.
Honor 7X Review, Ratings, and Pros Cons
Pros:
- The dual camera setup on the back can take some nice portrait shots.
- The build is premium and the blue color device looks stunning.
- The full view display on the front looks beautiful.
- Kirin 659 Processor with 4GB RAM can handle multitasking and games with ease.
Cons:
- Hybrid sim slot is there which is something we do not like because you cannot use 2 sim cards with a MicroSD.

Difference between Honor 9i and Honor 7X
Honor 7X and Honor 9i are very similar devices. Both have almost same screen size and device size. Both have a Full HD+ Full view display on the front. Both have Kirin 659 chipset with 4GB of RAM.
Look wise the only change is on the back side where Honor 9i has a vertical dual camera setup in the middle of device and Honor 7X has a horizontal dual camera setup on the top corner of the device. Front Camera hardware is different for these 2 devices.
Honor 9i has a dual camera setup in front with 13MP and 2MP sensor. The 13MP sensor is a color sensor and 2MP is a monochrome sensor. Details from both these sensors are combined to produce sharp images with depth/bokeh effect. On the other side, Honor 7X has a single 8MP camera on the front.
Honor 9i selfies are much more detailed and have a depth effect so it is safe to say that selfie lovers should prefer the Honor 9i. Back camera setup is same and performance is also similar.
