Redmi Note 4 was launched in India early this year and till now Xiaomi has sold over 50 lacs Note 4 devices. Even after more than 6 months of launch, its demand is still strong and overall those who are using this device are happy with its performance. Now Lenovo has come up with Lenovo K8 Note which competed with the Redmi Note 4 in price range of phones under 15000.
Let's compare Redmi Note 4 with Lenovo K8 Note and see how they perform in different departments. There are 3 variants of the Redmi Note 4 and 2 variants of the Lenovo K8 Note. We will be comparing the top variant of both phones which come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
The design of both phones is similar. You can say that Lenovo K8 Note just copied the design of Redmi Note 4. Both phones have metal build and a 2.5D glass over the display. The only difference you will see at the back is that Lenovo K8 Note has dual camera setup. Because of similar design this round is a tie.
Redmi Note 4 has Snapdragon 625 processor which is a 8 core chipset built on 14nm technology. Lenovo K8 Note has Helio X23 processor which is 10 core chipset built on 20nm technology. The Snapdragon 625 is performs well overall and is very efficient and the Helio X23's raw performance is great but it consumes more power and heats up. Lenovo K8 Note has more raw power and Note 4 has a more efficient processor so this round is also a tie.
Both Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo K8 Note has 5.5 inch Full HD Displays cover with 2.5D glass. Both displays are bright and vibrant and a normal user won't have any problem. This round again is a tie.
4. RAM & Storage
Top variant of both phones come with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The difference here is that Lenovo K8 Note has a dedicated MicroSD slot which can be used to increase the storage by up to 128GB. Lenovo K8 Note wins this round.
Redmi Note 4 has been updated to MIUI 9 which is based on Android 7.0 and Lenovo K8 Note is running on stock Android version 7.1. Both software are good but MIUI 9 is a heavy skin and consumes a lot of RAM. On the other hand Lenovo K8 Note is running on stock android but in our review we saw that it was killing apps quickly. So even after having stock Android on K8 Note we consider this round as a tie because none of them offer the best software experience.
Redmi Note 4 has a single 13MP camera on the back while Lenovo K8 Note has a dual camera setup with 13MP and 5MP sensors. The dual camera setup gives a bokeh/depth effect to the pictures. Both phones struggle in low light. Because of a dual camera setup, Lenovo K8 Note wins the camera round.
7. Battery and Charging
Both phones have a 4000 mAh battery inside. But the processor inside Redmi Note 4 is very efficient and you can get 2 days battery backup while the K8 Note will give you 1-1.5 days backup because of its Helio chip. So Redmi Note 4 is better when is comes to battery backup.
Redmi Note 4 comes with a normal 10W charger and does not support fast charging. On the other hand, Lenovo K8 Note comes with a turbo charger which will charge your device in less than 2 hours. So Lenovo K8 Note is better at charging.
One is better at charging and other is better with backup so we have a tie again.
Redmi Note 4 top variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will cost you Rs 12999 and Lenovo K8 Note top variant with same RAM and storage will cost you Rs 13999. Redmi Note 4 wins price round because it will cost you Rs 1000 less.
So, the choice is yours. Both phones are good and they offer similar performance in a lot of departments.
If you need better camera then go for Lenovo K8 Note and if you need better battery backup and lower price then go for Redmi Note 4.
