Just 4 months ago, Oppo launched a sub-brand Realme to take on Xiaomi and Honor in the under 20000 segment. Xiaomi is the king of this segment with stellar sales figures of Redmi Note 5 series. Honor has also done well with Honor 7X, Honor 9 Lite and the latest Honor 9N is getting a good response as well. Realme 1 was the first phone from Realme.
Oppo/Realme know how hot is this segment and that's why they kept very aggressive pricing of Realme 1. 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage at 13999 is something no one was expecting. High value for money has been the primary reason behind Realme 1's success.

There were a couple of points where Realme was criticised as well. First was the absence of a fingerprint scanner. A lot of people are used to fingerprint scanners and they skipped Realme because of that. Second was the absence of the dual camera. We know dual cameras are not really necessary for taking portrait mode pictures but most of the customers will still prefer dual over a single sensor.
Realme must have been listening and they are going to fix both these issues in the upcoming Realme 2. There is a dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor on the back. Plus, we are getting a notch display this time.
As you can see in the leaked image, Realme 2 will come with a diamond-cut design which we have seen on the Realme 1 and Oppo F7. The blue color phone with a notch display on the front looks stunning. We have to wait and see if there is a chin on the Realme 2 or not. If Realme keeps the chin as small as on F7, the 2 might become the best looking phone in this segment.
Latest leaks from 91Mobiles suggest that Realme 2 will sport a massive 4230 mAh battery. This capacity is 20% more than what we saw on Realme 1 which came with a 3400 mAh battery. On the camera side, you can expect a dual camera setup of 13MP+2MP with a LED Flash. The Realme 1 came with a single 13MP camera setup.

Are you thinking what about the price? Well, we don't have any info on that yet but we think Realme 2 will be priced little above Realme 1. According to our estimates, these will be the prices of various variants:
- Rs. 11999 for 4GB-64GB variant
- Rs. 14999 for 6GB-128GB variant
Realme discontinued the 3GB-32GB variant of the Realme 1 last month and we think there won't be a 3GB-32GB variant of the Realme 2.
Realme 2 Launch Date
We don't know the exact release date of Realme 2 yet. Realme has started teasing the device so you can expect it to launch in the first or second week of September.
