Redmi 5A was launched in India on 30th November with a tagline of #DeshKaSmartphone and is the most economical phone by Xiaomi while on the other hand Redmi 4 was launched 5 months back after the huge success of Redmi Note 4. Comparing these two smartphones, it is given that Redmi 4 has an upper hand is almost all departments. 

Redmi 5A comes with a plastic body while Redmi 4 has a metal body design and the camera also being on the better side. Redmi 5A comes with Snapdragon 425 while Redmi 4 comes with a just higher version Snapdragon 435, the Antutu benchmark scores of the respective phones is 37000 and 41500.

Redmi 5A does not have a fingerprint sensor while Redmi 4 carries one. But all these differences in the two comes at some price. The good thing about Redmi 5A is the VOLTE and MicroSD card slot availability and can be suited for low to mid usage.

Both the phones have a higher variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

So this was our comparison of two Xiaomi phones Redmi 5A and Redmi 4, Redmi 4 surely out powers Redmi 5A,  but the price difference defines it all. Redmi 5A is suitable for low to mid-level usage. No heavy games at all. Redmi 5A given to the price point it has been launched at surely caters to a large set of people looking for VOLTE (to use JIO Sim) in a price range of 5K.
