Comparison of Redmi 5A and Tenor 10or D

When we saw Redmi 5A, we thought you can't get a better device at Rs. 4999 but looks like Tenor wants to prove us wrong. Tenor has come up with Tenor D or 10.or D(We don't know why they have chosen such a terrible brand name). Tenor 10.or D comes at the same price as Redmi 5A and offers an even better overall package. Let's take a look at its detailed comparison.

Design and Display

Both phones look like that they are made of metal but both are made of plastic. We think the design of both smartphones is decent and both are easy comfortable to hold. The size of Tenor D is slightly bigger because of a bigger display and bigger bezels.

Redmi 5A has a 720p 5-inch display and 10.or D has a 720p 5.2-inch display. Both displays are decent with good colors and viewing angles. The display on Tenor D is slightly better than the display on Redmi 5A.

Redmi 5A comes with a 13MP f/2.2 camera on the back and a 5MP f/2.0 on the front. The Tenor 10.or D comes with 13MP f/2.0 on the rear and 5MP f/2.2 on the front. You won't notice a great difference between pictures taken from these devices. The back camera on Tenor D is slightly better than Redmi 5A and selfie camera on the Redmi 5A is slightly better than 10.or D.

Both Redmi 5A and 10.or D have Snapdragon 425. The Snapdragon 425 is an entry-level chipset but it performs well and is very efficient as well.

Storage and RAM

Both phones come in 2 variants. The lower variant is with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and the higher variant is with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. We suggest going for higher variant as extra 1gig of RAM can be very useful in multitasking.

Battery and Charging

Redmi 5A comes with 3000mAh battery and 10.or D comes with a bigger 3500mAh battery. Both phones have the same chipset so you can expect better battery backup on the Tenor 10.or D. The disappointing thing with Tenor D is its charger which is just 1Amp. The charger might take around 4 hours to fully charge the device from 0 to 100% which is very long time.

So Tenor D provides better battery backup but Redmi 5A provides faster charging.

Operating System

Tenor 10.or D is a better option here at it runs on Stock Android 7.1.2 while the Redmi 5A runs on MIUI 9 which is a skin based on Android 7.1.

2GB 32GB variant of both phones is priced at Rs. 4999 and 3GB 32GB variant of Tenor D is priced at 5999 while Redmi 5A 3GB 32GB is priced at 6999.

One major difference between these 2 devices is a fingerprint sensor. The 10.or D comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back while the Redmi 5A does not have a fingerprint sensor.

Let's take a look at the comparison of features, specifications and pros and cons of both devices.
