Apple iPhone X Brief Review and Pros Cons:

‘One more thing’ has been the words Apple doesn’t take colloquially, and whenever you hear these, then something truly extraordinary is about to dazzle. The same happened at the end of Apple’s 2017 September event. Despite all the leaks and rumours, the love and outpouring for iPhone X didn’t seem to falter. iPhone X is in itself a new direction for the iPhone since its original launch in 2007. It has been 10 years and Apple has a clear vision of changing the world with iPhone X for the next decade. The smartphone takes the ‘bezel-less’ motto of 2017, way too seriously and all you’ll see on the front of the device is that giant and magnanimous display which goes edge to edge, except that cut out up to infamously known as the top ‘notch’.

iPhone X features an all-new OLED display panel with an all-new size of 5.8 inches with a resolution of 1125 pixels by 2436 pixels. The display is called Super Retina HD by Apple and is undoubtedly the best display on the market, ever, according to rating agency DisplayMate. The form factor is totally different from what we’ve been seeing with the iPhones from past 3-4 years. It has an edge to edge front with a top-notch which has people divided into hate camps and embrace camps. Apple iPhone X is as premium as it gets with a glass back same as that on an iPhone 8 and is surrounded by metal bands as the rim. The iPhone X being the most astonishing smartphone of the year is also the most breakable phone of the year with huge repair costs involved, so if you are getting one, do buy a good case, some of the best ones are listed below.

iPhone X is powered by the same mighty A11 Bionic on the inside which has no parallel in performance erstwhile in the industry, coupled with 3GB of RAM, same as iPhone 8 Plus. We can’t really say more about the absolute powerhouse this device is. The Antutu benchmark score of the iPhone X is approximately 226000, beating any other Android phone in the market by at least a margin of 25%.

Since the launch of Pixel 2, the mobile smartphone camera standards have been redefined. After much anticipation on the camera quality of iPhone X, It doesn’t shy back with a score of 101 at DxO Mark, instils which is greater than the Pixel 2. While the Pixel 2 is the best smartphone camera no doubt, iPhone X is more or less equal. On the rear, we have a dual camera setup of 12MP and 12MP sensors of which one is a telephoto lens for 2X optical zoom without any loss in the image quality. The dual sensor setup n iPhone X is now vertical to enhance AR apps with similar sensors as on the iPhone 8 Plus but Optical Image Stabilization(OIS) on both the sensors. Portrait mode gets better and Portrait lighting debuts on the iPhone, with which you can now create studio lighting effects on your photos, that’s just way cool but still in beta, so don’t put your hopes high.

On the front, we have a 7MP camera sensor with f 2.2 aperture, you have that infamous notch although it houses state of the art FaceID tech. We have a TrueDepth camera system, which enables FaceID and portrait selfies, which of course looks totally awesome. And you have Animoji now on the X as the exclusive, we can’t possibly tell how much fun they are.

Read all about how the Face ID from Apple works.

To give emphasis on the Face ID proprietary technology, Apple has removed the fingerprint sensor from the iPhone X, and it takes a lot of courage and trust in their Face ID technology in taking this huge step. Apple has always redefined the market and is undoubtedly the leader in terms of innovation.

iPhone X comes with iOS 11, as Apple calls it, “The Most Advanced, Secure, Intuitive Mobile Operating System” but this isn’t totally the case this time around as iOS 11 still appears to be a late beta product. It certainly needs more work, especially in the battery and efficiency department. As with others, iOS 11 is beautiful, intuitive and super secure as always, more than anything you can get.

iPhone X doesn’t shine in the battery numbers, It has a 2716 mAh juice pack, which surely sounds measly in the world of 4000mAh batteries but Apple has always been about efficiency. And despite the battery power of 2716 mAh, It's  not as bad as it seems, iPhone X can readily give a handsome 6-7 hours of onscreen time which is enough to stay awake for a full day usage, all thanks to the new OLED panel.

Apple iPhone X, as in iPhone 8, is protected by IP67 certification which means that is is completely dust resistant and also water resistant for up to 1 meter of depth for 30 minutes. Read everything about what IP ratings mean.

The phone supports fast charging but the box does not have the fast charger. The box also contains ear pods and a cable to convert charging jack into the headphone jack. The microphone also acts as a speaker which gives the sound, a stereo effect.

Overall, iPhone X is the best phone in terms looks, is most powerful and clubbed with great innovation. The product though is overpriced if we see the specification, but comes with the Apple brand and undoubtedly has great features which the Android phones would take a few years at least to master.
