The Zenfone series has been a success because of its value for money devices but with the Zenfone 3 series, things have changed and prices have gone up. The Zenfone 3 Max launched at a price of Rs. 18999 is a similar story. The USP of this device is the massive 4100mAh battery which is expected to last for 2 days on a single charge. The build quality of the device is decent. It is made of metal and looks good. The display is a 1080p Full HD panel which has good clarity and viewing angles.
The camera on the back is 16MP and on the front is 8MP. Both cameras perform well in day light and low light conditions. There is a fingerprint sensor just below the back camera and its performance is inconsistent. Sometimes it works well and sometimes it does not.
Inside we have Snapdragon 430 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and this is the problem of this device. Snapdragon 430 is an entry level chipset found in phones like Redmi 3S which cost around Rs. 7000 and using it in a phone worth Rs. 18999 does not make a lot of sense. The mediocre performance of the chipset means you cannot play heavy games on the device. You might see some lag while usings lots of apps together as well.
Buying Zenfone 3 Max at this price does not look a good decision. Unless you are an Asus fan, you should skip it and go for better options like Redmi Note 4, Moto G5 Plus, Lenovo P2 and Honor 6X. All of these devices perform better than the 3 Max and they cost less as well.

The best price of Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL is around Rs. 9999. The prices keep changing so please check the latest price and available deals & offers at links below
Zenfone 3 is a decent device but expensive. Redmi 3S Prime offers same specs at roughly half price so we do not recommend Zenfone 3 Max.
