Google Pixel 2 64GB Brief Review and Pros Cons:

Google launched its most awaited Pixel 2 in November 2017 in India and seriously it has left everyone awestruck with almost everything the phone gets. Google Pixel 2 comes with 5-inch AMOLED screen compared to 6-inch display as seen in Google Pixel 2 XL. The display has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 Pixels.

Google Pixel 2 in the 5-inch screen has the perfect form factor and is super easy to grip in hand. The build quality is a lot superior and has a metal unibody construction, the body is covered with a premium plastic coating to make it grip easily in hand. Pixel 2 is powered by 1.9 GHz Octa Core Snapdragon 835 processor which is the topmost processor till date from Qualcomm as the industry awaits the unveiling of Snapdragon 845. The handy smartphone packs a 4GB on RAM and comes in 64GB and 128GB internal storage variant,

Coming to the most important highlight of the smartphone, the camera, where Google has kept the experience fascinating and stunning, the rear camera is a 12.2 MP sensor with f1.8 aperture and the front camera is an 8 MP sensor. The image quality is one of best among the flagships as Google combines the power of Artifical Intelligence(AI) into its camera software. The sensors also have electronic and optical image stabilization that aids in low lighting shots and stabilization of video. The camera software has a portrait mode, which allows blurring the background, but unlike other smartphones that use the dual camera to reproduce this effects, Google uses depth-sensing technology by reading of each pixel to differentiate between the background and the object.

As other smartphones try to capture more light through their sensor, Google has an AI approach which uses more data to make the experience seamless.

The fingerprint reader located at the back in super smooth, the quickest till date as seen on any other Android phones. The dual front speaker output is also amazing with no distortions observed in the sound even at very high volumes, again something the best in the industry so far.

While Google shunned the Dual camera in Pixel 2 as opposed to the latest trend, it also shunned the bezel-less display. That is somewhat not as negative apart from looks as most of the content is still aligned to 16:9 than 18:9. Pixel 2 runs on latest Android Oreo with stock Android experience, that keeps the UI simple and clean. No bloatware or custom skin that boosts the performance of the device. Pixel 2 also comes with an active edge feature that opens up Google Assistant when the phone is squeezed from sides. Currently, the action of the active edge is not customizable and only opens up Google Assistant. Pixel 2 also has a feature to identify the song that is playing around you, it uses machine learning to identify the song and displays the name on the lock screen and this all happens offline on your device itself.

There is one negative side as the Pixel 2 follows what Apple started in the industry, the removal of the headphone jack. It has a converter to play songs via USB Type C.

The battery on the Pixel 2 is rated at 2700mAH, certainly lower as compared to the likes of 4000mAH/5000mAH, but again its Google and the battery life in normal usage would last around 1.5 days easily, with heavy usage you can get around a day of battery backup. This is contributed by the Stock Android and 1080p AMOLED screen which do not require much power to drive. The phone also supports fast charging with a charger in the box supporting up to 18 W of power.

Google Pixel 2 is IP67 certified so it's waterproof for up to 1.5 meters and 30 minutes and completely dustproof.

So if you are looking for the best camera, clean software experience, great battery life, We believe, Google Pixel 2 is the best bet.
