Huawei P20 Lite amazes with the beautiful display and looks. It features a 5.84-inch full view display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and FHD+ resolution. The display has sharp colours and you will not find any issue viewing it even in the bright outdoor light. It has a metal frame in between front and back and a 2.5D curved glass back with glittery textures that make it look superior to any other phone in this price segment. You would like to use a back cover as the glass is a fingerprint magnet.
On the Performance front, it is powered by a Kirin 659 processor and 4GB of RAM. Kirin 659 is the processor seen on Honor 7x, Honor 9 Lite and Honor 9i. It is a powerful processor which coupled with 4GB of RAM can handle all the multitasking and gaming you do with it, but lags way behind the Redmi Note 5 Pro which has a Snapdragon 636 scoring around 110000 on the Antutu while the Huawei P20 lite just manages to score a little above 75000. So definitely, Redmi Note 5 Pro will offer better performance.
Coming to the most talked about feature, the camera. It has a dual rear camera with 12 MP and 2MP sensor which clicks fantastic images and the camera app has various modes panorama, HDR, pro, beauty, slow motion and a few more. It has bokeh effect works perfectly fine and in the daylight, the camera has decent performance in the price range. You will see some noise when you zoom into the images but that should not affect you much. The rear camera supports 1080p video recording and we believe it should be extended to 4K through software updates to make it stand out. The low light shots are also good with no major shortcoming.
For the selfie, we have a 16MP sensor that clicks beautiful and sharp images in all lighting conditions. The camera quality and performance is not outstanding but reasonably good for the price. It has software features and beauty algorithms that very well recognizes and modifies the colour temperature, skin tone to make the photo look perfect. The software algorithms are also used to provide bokeh effects in the image.
P20 Lite comes with a 64 GB onboard storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB using a hybrid sim slot. It runs of EMUI 8.0 which is a custom skin build over Android 8.1 Oreo. There is some bloatware and overall the software experience is decent and Huawei has added some new features to its EMUI layer.
It houses a 3000 mAH battery but weighs just 145 gm and only 7.4 mm thick. The battery can power the phone for around one complete day. There is no IP rating on this phone so you would have to keep it protected from water and dust damage. It comes with a fast charger and can charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent in just 90 minutes.
It has a fingerprint sensor on the back and also supports face unlocking via the front camera. It comes with dual Bluetooth that allows you to connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. Overall, a decent and complete phone for the price but faces crisp competition from the likes of Redmi Note 5 Pro and Nokia 7 Plus.

Overall
Huawei P20 lite is a perfect phone for day to day usage but in the pricing of 20k, it faces a lot of competition. It has decent performance, good camera shots, and various new features like dual Bluetooth, fast charging that separates it from the other phones in this price range. But if your usage is restricted to just the camera, P20 lite will not be the best choice. It is overall performance and looks that make it a good choice.
