Infinix Zero 5 Pro Brief Review and Pros Cons:

Infinix after the success of budget smartphones Infinix Note 4 and Infinix Hot 4 Pro in the Indian market, has launched mid-range smartphones Infinix Zero 5 and Infinix Zero 5 Pro. As is evident from the specs, it has everything that a phone user looks for. Let's find out how it delivers to what the specs promise in our Infinix Zero 5 Pro review.

Infinix Zero 5 Pro has a metal unibody design which looks sleek and stylish and feels good in the hand, it has a 5.98-inch Full HD display which is protected by a  2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The color reproduction and viewing angles of the device are good and you won't face any issues.

As with all the phones launched in 2017 that got a thumbs up in the various review, Infinix Zero 5 Pro has also put a special focus on the camera quality. The rear camera is a dual camera setup which is a combination of 12MP Wide Angle and 13MP Telephoto lens which has f2.0 aperture with 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. The camera supports various mode like portrait, panorama, professional etc. In our initial camera review of Infinix Zero 5 Pro, we found the image quality to be brilliant in the daylight, the colours are punchier, natural and delivers well to the expectations but in the low light the camera struggled a bit and we could see some minor noise in the images.

The front camera of Infinix Zero 5 Pro is a 16MP shooter with front flash and supports bokeh mode, the front camera also delivers well and clicks clear selfies with good colour reproductions. Both the front and rear camera support video up to 1080p but the video as well struggle a bit in the low light condition. The rear camera in Infinix Zero 5 Pro supports OIS which works perfectly fine and the video is not shaky when shooting while moving.

Talking about the performance review of the device, Infinix Zero 5 Pro is powered by Octa Core 2.6GHz Mediatek Helio P25 MT6757 Chipset. The Antutu benchmark score of the device is around 66000 which is similar to benchmark scores seen in Lenovo P2, Mi A1. This score is similar to the score of Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. It looks like Infinix looks to add a lot of things into the phone by compromising a few points on the processing power side. We did a few initial tests and review with the gaming on the Infinix Zero 5, but to our surprise, given the MediaTek chipset, there was no lag or frame drops or heating issues observed. Looks like Infinix has managed the internal software and heat dissipation efficiently.

Zero 5 Pro comes with 6GB of RAM, that makes multitasking a breeze. It has a massive internal storage of 128GB which can be expanded with a dedicated micro SD card of up to 128GB, along with dual sim usage. So if you are someone who likes to store a lot of pictures, videos and songs then Infinix Zero 5 Pro is a good option for you.

Inifiniz Zero 5 Pro comes with XOS which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat but the company has promised an upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo. In XOS, the company has added inbuilt features like an anti-theft system, split screen mode and smart interactions. The software is clean with some limited bloatware, the UI is fast and easy to use. The fingerprint sensor is on the back which is quick and accurate, takes about half a second to unlock.

The battery size of Infinix Zero 5 Pro is rated at 4350 mAH, it is huge and easily lasts for more than a day with normal usage. It comes with a 18W fast charger which is capable of a very quick charge of a full battery in around 1.5 hours and USB type C which assists fast charging and fast data transfer. Infinix Zero 5 does not have IP rating and is not IP 67 or IP 68 certified so it is not waterproof and should be used accordingly.

One thing that Infinix Zero 5 Pro misses from the trend is the Bezel-less display, we have seen phones like Honor 9i (Check full review), which is one brilliantly crafted smartphone, priced in the similar range coming with the bezel-less display. Zero 5 though looks good but at Suggest Phone we think bezel-less display would have raised the level of looks. The company would have surely thought of this and maybe restricted itself to save the cost for other features added to the phone.

Overall in our first complete review of Infinix Zero 5 Pro, we found the smartphone has a tradeoff between performance, camera and looks. The phone performs decently well in all the departments and so if anyone is looking for a well-settled phone, with a metal body, huge RAM for multitasking, fast charging and big screen, you can go for this.

With the launch of Inifnix Zero 5, Infinix has also launched Infinix QuietX (XE05) Headset with Mic and Infinix Quiet 2 (XE02) Headset with Mic which are focussed on noise reduction with some great new features.
