Lenovo K8 Note is the successor to K6 Note which was sold offline only. Lenovo has upgraded the processor and the camera of the device. The phone is made of metal and has a good build quality. The edges are curved which make it easy to hold.
The display on the Lenovo K8 Note is Full HD 1080p panel with good color reproduction and viewing angles. It is covered with 2.5D glass on the front which gives it a nice look.
The USP of the Lenovo K8 Note is the dual camera on the back. There are 13MP and 5MP sensors on the back and information from both camera sensors help to give a bokeh or depth effect to the images. The camera performs well under daylight conditions but under low light the camera performance is average. The camera on the front is 13MP which again performs well in daylight but no so under low light conditions.
Inside the Lenovo K8 Note, we have an Helio X23 processor which is a 10 core chipset. The processor is more powerful than Snapdragon 625 and 626 but it is not efficient so battery backup will be average at best. Another issue with the processor is that it tends to heat up while playing heavy games.
The Lenovo K8 Note scores around 95000 on Antutu benchmarks thanks to the powerful Helio X23 Chipset. This is around 1.5x of the Antutu score of Snapdragon 625 which is around 65000.
On the storage side, we have 2 variants of Lenovo K8 Note. The first variant comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and the second variant comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The price difference is just Rs 1000 so we recommend the 64GB 4GB variant.
The Lenovo K8 Note also has a dedicated MicroSD slot which can be used to increase the storage by 128GB. Lenovo has done a good job by avoiding the hybrid sim slot which limits the functionality of the device.
Lenovo K8 Note also has Dolby Atmos support. You can change the settings in Dolby app to change the bass and treble. It works pretty well so if you like to listen to music on your phone, you should definitely tweak the settings according to your preferences.
Overall the Lenovo K8 Note is a balanced device with a couple of negatives like average camera performance under low light and heating issues. At this price point, we think it offers good value for money.
