Moto One Power is a mid-range Android One smartphone from Motorola which comes with a massive 5000 mAh battery. Recent Motorola phones like the G6, G6 Plus were overpriced but the One Power looks reasonably priced. Should you buy it? Let's find out in our brief review below.
Looks wise, the Motorola One Power looks very similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Just add a notch display to Note 5 Pro and you will get Moto One Power. The camera placement on the rear is vertical and the fingerprint sensor is placed in the center. The Moto logo is above the fingerprint sensor which is not the quickest but does the job well. The design is metal unibody and there's not much to write about it. The display on the front is a 6.2 inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of Full HD+ 1080p. The display is good. The colors are rich and viewing angles are fine as well. The front camera and the earpiece are placed inside the notch.
The phone feels solid but it is a bit bulky because of the massive 5000 mAh battery inside. It weighs 205 gms and the thickness is around 9mm. If you like slim and light-weight phones then this is not for you. The 5000 mAh battery means excellent battery life. You can get 2 days of backup on a single charge with mixed usage. Motorola is providing a fast turbocharger inside the box and it charges the phone from 0 to 100% in just around 2 hours and 15 minutes which is great.
Moto One Power comes with a dual rear camera and a single front camera. The rear setup is 16MP+5MP where 5MP is the depth sensor to add bokeh effect to your images. The 16MP color sensor has a f/1.8 aperture and the performance is not that great. The portrait mode pictures look very average and Motorola needs to improve it with a software update. The video doesn't have any stabilization so that's shaky. The front camera is 12MP and takes decent pictures outdoors. Indoors low light performance is average for both rear and front cameras. This isn't the best phones in the segment for camera lovers.
The chipset inside the Motorola One Power is the Snapdragon 636. The SD636 chipset is very powerful and can handle any task you throw at it. Using multiple applications and games is going to be a breeze. Moto One Power scores around 115000 on the Antutu Benchmarks which is similar to phones like Note 5 Pro and Zenfone Max Pro. Moto One Power is an Android One smartphone with no bloatware installed. The clean software with a powerful chipset provides a very smooth experience.
Moto One Power comes in just 1 variant which is 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The storage can be expanded via a dedicated MicroSD slot by up to 256GB. The only color available is black. We were expecting more options from Motorola but that didn't happen.
Moto One Power is exclusively available on Flipkart at Rs.15999. Considering the performance of the phone, we think it offers good value for money. If you need a phone with notch display, stock android, powerful processor and a big battery then Moto One Power will be perfect for you. If you need better cameras then go for Mi A2.
