OnePlus is known for providing flagship performance at a budget price. We can not say 33000 is a budget price still the OnePlus 5 is a lot cheaper than phones which offer similar performance. OnePlus has been creative with the design till now but this years OnePlus 5 looks like a copy on iPhone 7 Plus. There a 1080p AMOLED display on the front which is very bright and colourful. We would have loved to see a 2K bezel-less display but OnePlus was not able to do that. On the back, we have a 16MP + 20MP dual camera setup. The 20MP camera helps to provide zoom without losing the quality of images and it adds bokeh effect to your pictures. The overall performance of the camera is great and it takes great pictures in daylight and low light conditions. On the inside, we have a latest and greatest chipset from Qualcomm which is the Snapdragon 835 with 6/8GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage. The powerful internals with stock android makes multitasking a breeze. The everyday performance is crazy fast with no lag whatsoever even with the high-end games. The battery size has been reduced from 3400mAh on OnePlus 3T to 3300mAh on the OnePlus 5. Still, the backup is good and the phone will last a day with heavy usage. The dash charging by OnePlus is probably the fastest charging tech in smartphone world right now and it can charge the OnePlus 5 from 0 to 60% in just 30 minutes and to 100% in just 80 minutes. That is phenomenal if you compare it to other devices. OnePlus has cut some corners as well like the phone is not water resistant, no wireless charging, no bezel-less display. Still, the phone is a great performer and anyone looking to spend around 30000 should go for it.
Overall the OnePlus 5 is a great device. Latest and greatest hardware with latest stock android at Rs. 37999 does not sound like a bad deal at all. Honor 8 Pro is another great option in this range which has a better design, more storage at a lesser price.
