Oppo K1 Brief Review and Pros Cons:

Oppo K1 is Oppo's first smartphone in 2019 and it comes with plenty of features and at a surprising price point. With this pricing, it goes head to head with value for money brands like Redmi, Realme, Asus etc. So how is Oppo K1? Should you buy it? Find out in our brief review below.

Oppo K1 is a midrange smartphone and is priced in the 15000 to 20000 price segment. It comes with a reflective gradient back design where you will see shades of blue and purple as you come from top to bottom. The design is flashy so some people are going to love it and some will hate it. If you don't like it, there is a simple black color variant for you.

On the front, we have a large 6.41 inch AMOLED display panel of 1080p Full HD+ resolution. AMOLED panels are something that we don't see in this price segment. The display panel is gorgeous with sharp colors and good viewing angles. The notch design is dewdrop and the bezels are thin all around which means the screen to body ratio is over 90%. Oppo has used an AMOLED panel to place a fingerprint sensor below the display. This in-display fingerprint sensor is also a first in this price segment. Before this, we saw it on Vivo V11 Pro which was priced around 25000 in India.

To run the apps and games, we get Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB via the MicroSD card slot in the triple slot sim tray. The performance of the device is good and it can handle a lot of apps and games without any lag. The UI is a bit clunky though and there is a lot of bloatware which is not surprising because the phone runs on Oppo's ColorOS. Still, the overall experience is good.

There is a 3500 mAh battery inside the phone. Color OS is well optimized and doesn't drain the battery at all. You can expect battery backup of 1.5 days with normal use. The charger is usual 5V 2Amps and will charge the phone fully in around 2 hours 15 minutes. The charging port is still MicroUSB. It would have been great if Oppo has provided a USB Type C port here.

For taking pictures, Oppo has provided a powerful set of cameras here. The rear setup is 16MP+2MP dual where 2MP is the depth sensor. The 16MP sensor has an aperture of f/1.7 which helps in getting more light in low-light conditions. The camera uses AI to detect various scenes and optimize the settings. Beauty mode and stickers are also available if you like to use those. The front camera is a 25MP sensor and takes beautiful selfies in almost all kinds of conditions. The pictures look good with plenty of details. Background blue in portrait shots also looks natural.

Overall, Oppo K1 is a feature packed phone at an excellent price. AMOLED display, In-display fingerprint, powerful processor, good battery, good camera performance makes it one of the best phone under 15000 to 20000 segment. Other options in this range include Mi A2, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Moto One Power, and Nokia 6.1 Plus.
