Samsung Galaxy A30 Brief Review and Pros Cons:

Samsung had mainly focused its sale for its flagships. However, we saw a steep change in both its offering and strategy with their mobile sales when the M series arrived that provided huge value for the buck that you spent. Samsung has been offering phones in their A series since 2014. The A series mainly focus on offering some of the features that are seen in only the upper flagship models. This makes the A series an upper mid-range offering. The 2019 A series aims at hitting the perfect balance between price and features.

Compared to the Samsung Galaxy M30, this Galaxy A30 features more or less the same plastic back but a perfectly polished to give it a glass look. This is not necessarily a bad thing as it provides great ergonomics for the users to hold their device, It has the same Infinity-U notched Super AMOLED display which is 6.4 inch at FHD+ resolution. The total resolution is 2340 x 1080 pixels giving the A30 an overall 400+ ppi of density. What this basically converts to great media consumption with rich and punchy colors.

Coming to what is powering this Galaxy A30, we again have the same in-house built Exynos 7904 from Samsung. And this processor has proven its ground as a very capable contender as it was used before in the M20 and M30 too. There is really not much to complain about the performance side all thanks to the Exynos 7904. The Exynos 7904 is not the best processor available at this price range but however gets the job done. It is basically is a combination of 2 cortex A-73 clocked at 1.8 GHz. and 6 cortex A-53 clocked at 1.6 GHz. This phone has an AnTuTu score of 1,08,000. This is not the absolute best but like we said it gets the job done.

There is a 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage available on the phone which has a dedicated SD card slot to expand the memory to 512 GB with proper dual sim usage.

Let us now go to the camera review of Galaxy A30, It has a primary rear camera with a 16MP F1.7 lens and 5MP F2.2 ultra-wide lens and that’s it. The selfie camera upfront is a 16MP f2.0 sensor. The camera captures clear and sharp images with good contrast and color reproduction. The camera has been a strong department for Samsung always and it goes on well with this phone. The low light shots also have good details and the portrait shots are spot on in detecting the edges and blurring the background very well. Additionally, you get the capability to click ultra wide shots. Overall the camera works great and you will be able to capture good crisp moments with this camera.

The A30 also runs on the latest Android 9 pie with One UI on top. A lot of the experience that the users would be receiving would mainly be from One UI. One UI is basically the pinnacle of evolution of Samsung’s over the year refinements and what you're left with is much-improved UI with great features.

Coming to the battery, Galaxy A30 has a battery rated at 4000 mAh which provides a backup for a full day easily. It has a fast charger and a USB Type C port for charging. The phone feels lightweight in hand and only weighs 163 gm. Though there is no official confirmation however this article from GSMArena claims that the Samsung Galaxy A30 comes with an IP68 rating so it is water and dust proof.

Samsung has brought M series and A series to target the market of under 10k and 20k and this A30 does a decent job overall with a strong camera performance, good processor, dedicated SD card slot and an improved UI. For a price point of 17000, this is a very welcome phone from Samsung given we saw Samsung A6 and A6 Plus being launched with the pricing of around 20k and a specification of an under 10k smartphone. With this revamp, Samsung has up its ante to take on the budget segment.

Samsung A30 is available in blue and black colors and is available on Flipkart and Amazon.
