Samsung On Max Brief Review and Pros Cons:
Samsung is not known for selling value for money phones but the story of Samsung On Max is little different. The device has a metal build which feels strong and looks good. The display on the front is a large 5.7 inch Full HD display with good colours and viewing angles. The display is covered with a 2.5D glass which gives it a premium look.
Above the display, there is a 13MP front camera with flash. Selfie lovers will love this combination of a high-resolution camera with a flash for low light conditions. Below the display, we have a fingerprint sensor which is quick and accurate. On the back, we have a 13MP camera with larger pixels for low light conditions. The performance of both front and back camera is decent and we have no complaints.
Inside the phone, we have MediaTek P25 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Samsung has gone with MediaTek instead of or Snapdragon or its own Exynos to keep the cost low. The P25 is a decent chipset with performance similar to Snapdragon 625 but it is not that power efficient. With a large display and a MediaTek chipset, the 3300mAh battery will last a day with moderate usage. A battery size of 4000mAh would have been a better choice for this device.
Overall the Samsung On Max is a well-balanced device and is a good option for those who love Samsung brand. If you are fine with other brands then Motorola G5 Plus is a good option which provides equally good performance and camera. If the camera is not your top priority and you want to save some money then take a look at devices like Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo P2.
