Nokia 8 Brief Review and Pros Cons:

Nokia 8 is the flagship phone of 2017 from Nokia. Nokia is coming back after a long time and fans like us are excited.

At first look, Nokia 8 looks stunning especially the blue color variant. It has a metal unibody design carved out of Series 6000 aluminum. This is the same material used in iPhone 6 Plus which started the bendgate. Nokia might have used the same 6000 series material but the phone is very durable. Coming to the display, Nokia 8 has a Quad HD 5.3 inch display. The display is very sharp and bright. It is one of the most bright displays because of which the sunlight legibility is great. The display can be set to always on mode where it will display time and notifications. You can change for how do you want to have the always on display. Keeping it low will surely help to get better battery backup. Below the display, we have a fingerprint sensor with navigation keys which are backlit. 

Inside the Nokia 8, we have the latest Snapdragon 835 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The experience is super snappy thanks to the stock android with no bloatware at all. The device is able to handle heavy games and apps with ease. We did not notice any lag at all. Nokia 8 scores around 175000 on Antutu benchmark which is similar to other flagship devices.

The battery is 3090 mAh which is not great but still, it manages to give a full day of backup with medium usage. Plus, there is fast charging which helps to charge the device from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes.

The camera setup on the back comes with Zeiss branding and is made of two 13MP f/2.0 sensors. One of the sensors is a color sensor and the other one is a monochrome sensor. There is no telephoto lens so you cannot zoom without losing image quality. You can take portrait shots though. The pictures taken from the back camera are very detailed and sharp. You can take black and white shots as well which also have high level of details. The night or low light pictures also look great. Nokia has done a good job with the camera setup of Nokia 8.

The front camera on the front is a 13MP f/2.0 sensor with autofocus. The front camera also performs really well and takes high-quality shots. 

Video recording can be done at 4K 30FPS. While video recording sound is captured through 3 microphones which results in clear recordings. Better than most of the other phones in this price range.

There is a new feature from Nokia where you can record video from both front and back camera at the same time. Nokia is calling it Bothies. We have to wait and see it this trend picks up in future. 

Overall, Nokia 8 is a pretty solid smartphone from Nokia in flagship segment. It is will give tough competition to LG G6 and OnePlus 5 which are selling at similar price point.
