Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime Brief Review and Pros Cons:

Samsung J7 Prime is another budget smartphone launched by Samsung in the J Series. J7 Prime is powered by Exynos 7870 and comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone comes with a dedicated SD card slot expandable up to 256GB, so there should not be an issue with the low internal memory.

Talking about the display of the phone, it comes with TFT screen and Samsung seems to have shunned the Super AMOLED display as was seen in almost all phones launched by Samsung lately. The display is good and sharp and the viewing angles are good but TFT display cannot beat the AMOLED display. The body is metal body design something very similar to the budget range phones. The build quality is good as seen in many Samsung phones. Also, the 2.5D gorilla glass offers a premium feel and look on the handset.

Coming to the Camera review, the rear camera is a 13MP shooter and the image quality is crisp in both indoor and outdoor lighting. The front camera is an 8MP shooter, overall the front camera is good but suffers noise in the low or artificial lighting, so not the best for taking a selfie.

The battery in Samsung J7 Prime is a 3300mAh and it can easily last for more than a day. All Samsung phones usually deliver decent battery life. The phone also comes with S Power mode to help increase the battery life and S Bike mode to auto-reply on calls while you are driving a bike. There have been a few improvements is UI and some of the inbuilt features like app lock and hide features through fingerprint have been added in the J7 prime.

The J7 also comes with many major disappointments, the first one being, the cellular reception of the phone is very poor, you may face network connectivity issues many times. The Fingerprint sensor is not accurate and also sluggish. Regarding the gaming performance, there was no heating issue observed but the high-end games face a lot of frame drops and lag issues, the software optimization seems to be very poor. These are something which Samsung can fix with software updates, but no one knows if they would or not and by when.

In terms of sensors, Samsung phones below 25000 lack various useful sensors, J7 Prime also misses on auto brightness sensor, it does not have a gyroscope(cannot view 360-degree video or use the phone with VR headset).

The J7 Prime with 3GB RAM is able to handle all the multitasking easily but comes with a lot of disappointments. We feel that the earlier launched Samsung J7 with 2GB RAM performs better than the J7 Prime.

Pros: What's great in this device?

Good build quality with Metal design and Gorilla glass
Rear camera clicks crisp and good quality pictures.
Battery can easily last for 1-1.5 days

Cons: What's bad in this device?

Fingerprint unlocking can be tricky. Sometimes inaccurate and not fast.
Gaming performance is poor. There are frame drops and lags in the heavy games but no heating issues.
Cellular call reception is poor.
Lacks Gyroscope and Auto Brightness sensors
