Both the phones have a plastic body with Redmi 5A having a better rear and front camera having 13MP and 5MP sensors compared to Moto C plus which has an 8MP and 1MP sensor. 

Redmi 5A also holds a better processor Snapdragon 425 having an Antutu Benchmark score of 37000 while Motorola C Plus has MediaTek MTK6737 which scores only 27000.  The battery backup of Motorola C Plus is better compared to Redmi 5A. Both the phones support VOLTE and can run with JIO sim flawlessly.

Redmi 5A also has a higher variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory priced at 6999, due to higher RAM, this variant is better suited for multitasking.
